How Elaia responds when you are in crisis
Elaia is an artificial intelligence program, not a person. It does not diagnose, does not treat, and does not replace a doctor or therapist.
What happens
If a message shows signs of a crisis — thoughts of self-harm or death, a feeling that you cannot cope — Elaia recognises this while generating the reply and:
- responds gently, without treatment advice;
- shows helpline contacts and the emergency number;
- encourages you to reach a person — someone close, a professional or a helpline.
What Elaia does not do
- it does not monitor you continuously or watch your conversations;
- it does not call emergency services or connect you with a professional;
- it does not build a profile or flag your account;
- it does not share these messages with anyone except the AI provider that generates the reply.
To improve the Service we count only the number of such cases, without message text.
Recognition can be wrong
It may miss a crisis or see one where there is none. If you are struggling, do not wait for a program's reply: helplines are at elaia.space/help.
